A "lovely woman" who "loved chatting away" was killed after being hit by two cars.
Yesterday, Merseyside Police were called to an incident on Market Street in Hoylake just before 6.45pm , after a woman in her 80s was hit by two cars. The woman died at the scene and her next of kin has now been informed and her family are being supported by officers.
The victim has now been named locally as "Anna", a "well-loved character" who would visit the Black Toad on Market Street, just down the street from the location of the incident, once a week.

Staff at the Black Toad told the ECHO: "We knew her by Anna, I didn't know her second name. She'd come in once a week.
"She'd been coming in since we opened, about three and a half years ago.
"She was just such a well-loved character, and just a lovely woman.
"She was just really friendly, she loved chatting away at the bar.
"Anna always loved to put a smile on everyone's face when she came in. She loved to talking about the Royal family and she'd always be sharing her political opinions with everyone, but in a funny way.
"I know she had a boyfriend over the way in Liverpool.
"She wasn't here that night. I don't know where she'd been."
An investigation is underway and CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the local area. Both drivers stopped at the scene and are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
More than a dozen police vehicles attended the scene last night. A white tent was placed in the middle of the road, which was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Detective Sergeant Amy Murray said: "Our sincere thoughts and condolences are with the family of the woman who sadly died following this tragic incident. Specially trained Family Liaison Officers are supporting them at this time.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed this collision on Market Street at around 6.45pm to please make contact with us as we continue to piece together the circumstances.
"I would also ask anyone who was driving on Market Street at the time of collision and has any dashcam footage that may help us to please get in touch as soon as possible. Any information you have could be vital to our investigation."
