'Love to see it' Newcastle United supporters react to team named to face Aston Villa

Newcastle United fans have backed Eddie Howe's decision to name an unchanged XI for this afternoon's clash with Aston Villa at St. James' Park. Howe has resisted the temptation to change his side after last weekend's impressive 2-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur.

That means Dan Burn retains his place at left back ahead of Matt Targett, while Joelinton continues on the left hand side despite Allan Saint-Maximin's return to the bench. Sean Longstaff also continues in midfield even with Jonjo Shelvey in the squad after his first minutes of the season in the capital on Sunday.

Full XI: Pope, Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Willock; Almiron, Wilson, Joelinton

Here is what Newcastle fans have been saying on today's starting line-up.

@wheyayemanus: "Another week unchanged. Keep what's working! And yes! ASM is on the bench!"

@tynetakes: "No need to change a winning team. Burn is playing well and is a big part of the way we attack by dropping into wide CB allowing Trippier to bomb on and Miggy to profit. Great to see Saint back to have a go at Ashley Young in the last 20!"

@NUFCEddiee: "Love to see it. Maxi to change the game if we're not winning by 60 minutes."

@Nufc628063261: "Played brilliant last week so happy with that team."

@RealLeeAnderson: "Stronger looking bench now. Good starting 11 again."

@RoryHanna45: "Still find it crazy how we are getting away with Dan Burn at left back. What a player he is but should be illegal. Great having Maxi available too."

@Liam_Smithh: "Strongest I've seen our bench for quite some time."

@1892_br: "Shelvey and Maxi on 70th minute to run riot, thanks."
