'Love that': Newcastle supporters delighted by Eddie Howe's team selection for Bournemouth tie

Newcastle United fans could not hide their delight as Eddie Howe named a strong eleven for their Carabao Cup clash against Bournemouth. The Magpies return to competitive action with a home tie on Tuesday night before resuming their Premier League campaign on Boxing Day with an away fixture at Leicester City.

Newcastle will book their place in the last eight of the competition with a victory over Howe's former side. The teams have already met at St James' Park in the Premier League, with an Alexander Isak penalty earning the hosts a 1-1 draw.

Bruno Guimaraes, Nick Pope, Fabian Schar Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson all start despite featuring at the World Cup. Allan Saint-Maximin, Jonjo Shelvey, and captain Jamaal Lascelles are among those forced to settle for a spot on the bench.
