Love Saves the Day banned items list including loose glitter and umbrellas

Last year organisers of Love Saves the Day made the decision to ban revellers from wearing glitter and encouraged festival goers to bring their own reusable bottles, in a bid to reduce the amount of single-use plastic for sustainability reasons.

In a sustainability report released after the festival last year, organisers shared the statistics behind their carbon footprint which came to 25.6 tonnes of CO2e. In the report they said: “Good news, 53 per cent of our waste was recycled. We saved 66,250L of water thanks to our onsite compost loos and 9,000 of our audience chose to travel sustainably with our Love Bus & Big Green Coach.”

In the report, organisers said they wanted to increase their recycling rates by 10 per cent at the 2023 festival as well as increase the usage of their shuttle bus by 10 per cent, and boost the number of compost loos in the public arena by 20 per cent.
