Love rival slashed boyfriend's ex with stiletto-shaped perfume bottle in park attack

A woman slashed the face of her boyfriend’s ex with a stiletto-shaped perfume bottle in a park showdown after yelling: “I’m going to do you in”.

Jessica Baker, 20, was in a relationship with the ex of victim Amelia Duckworth when they got into a social media spat about him.

The rivalry “heated up” to the point where Baker confronted Miss Duckworth in the park.

The mum of one had concealed a Carolina Herrera bottle behind her back before lunging and striking her twice across the head.

Miss Duckworth’s cousin Georgia Hooper took photos of the moment Baker launched her attack.

The victim was left covered in blood and concussed. She needed stitches for a gash between her eyes and her scalp was glued in hospital.

Rob Griffiths, prosecuting, told Bournemouth crown court how Baker met the victim on the green of King Charles’s model village Poundbury, Dorset on August 24 last year, intending to harm her.

He said: “A witness saw her ‘walking with a purpose’. She had a phone in her hand and was staring at the phone, ‘gobbing off, effing and blinding’.

Miss Hooper said to the defendant, ‘if you have something to say, just say it then’ and she responded, ‘I’m going to do you in.’”

In a victim impact statement, Ms Duckworth said she had been left traumatised and afraid to go out.

Rebecca Fairbairn, defending, said “genuinely remorseful” Baker pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.

Baker admitted actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

She was sentenced to 12 months in prison suspended for two years on condition of a two-month curfew between 9pm and 7am.

Baker must also pay a £156 victim surcharge and was subjected to a two-year restraining order.
