Love Island star Amber Beckford has revealed the real reason behind contestants Jacques O’Neill and Remi Lambert’s feud, which appears to have been cut from the ITV2 dating show.
The 22-year-old model and rapper claimed his co-stars Jacques and Luca Bish bullied him in the bully, sharing an emotional statement earlier this week laying out the extent to which it affected him.
24-year-old Amber, who was dumped from the villa alongside Ikenna Ekwonna, has now spoken about the rift between Remi and Jacques, describing the moment they first clashed in the villa.
Amber has told how Remi made a comment about a night out in Manchester with Davide Sanclimenti ahead of their stints in the Love Island villa, which seems to have kicked off the clash.
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu then relayed the story of the night out to Jacques and Luca, who then repeated what Ekin had said to Davide, leading to an unaired row in the villa.
Speaking on the Reality with Will Njobvu podcast, Amber said: “ Remi came in saying, ‘I know Davide’. He was having a conversation with the girls and he said, ‘I know Davide I saw him out in Manchester, the night was messy,’ this that and the other.
“Then a conversation got relayed back to Jacques and Luca, I think by Ekin, and it kind of got relayed in a way of, ‘Oh yeah Remi saw Davide and he said he looked like a mess and stuff like that,’ but it was more directed that Remi was being rude about Davide.”
Amber continued: “But because Jacques was the one that told Davide that, that caused drama between Remi and Davide.
“But because Davide said it was Jacques that relayed that information, Remi sort of looked at Jacques like, ‘Why you stirring s**t? Like what the f**k,’ and then obviously Remi’s just saying things to wind him up and is thinking, ‘I don’t like you, shut the f**k up'.”
Host Will asked whether the row had been a noisy one, to which Amber replied: “Yeah it was loud. It was more like Remi was loud and then he got up and was like: ‘I’m p****d off’ and then walked away.”
Remi has now accused Luca Bish and Jacques O'Neill of bullying, as he posted a clip of the pair seemingly mocking his rapping skills during an Instagram Live.
Remi wrote a lengthy statement alongside the video, saying: “Don’t know why these guys have such a problem with me, clearly got some serious issues they need to sort out.
“Everyone said I lied about the way I was treated in that villa, but this here is an example of what was going on whilst I was in there.
“Don’t know why they wasn’t kicked out for their behaviour to be honest. It’s not banter, it’s clear signs of bullying.”
He continued: “I wish everyone could see all of the crap I went through. There’s 24 hours in a day and yous only seen like about 3-5 10 second clips of me out of the whole day, so you could never tell what was truly happening.”
