Love Island star Tasha Ghouri has just landed a huge fashion brand deal with eBay UK.
Tasha, who came fourth on the ITV2 dating show alongside partner Andrew Le Page, announced her new role as the marketplace’s ‘pre-loved ambassador’ via a post on her Instagram.
In a bid to become more sustainable this season, Love Island partnered with eBay, encouraging the Islanders to wear pre-loved clothes while in the villa, and it’s the first non-fast fashion brand partnership to come out of the cult TV series.
Continuing in its mission to change the way we shop for clothes and putting secondhand fashion centre stage, the collaboration is a natural next step for eBay, after the model and dancer was quickly dubbed this year’s fashion style icon, providing us with a master class in pre-loved styling each night.
Alongside a series of promotional photos, Tasha wrote: "A BIRTHDAY GIFT TO LAST A LIFETIME. I am over the moon to announce I am @ebay_uk first ever pre-loved ambassador.
"Prior to Love Island, I've always bought secondhand for my wardrobe, so partnering with #eBay really is a dream come true.
"I feel passionately that we can all make little swaps to our wardrobes and our lives for the better and so I’m excited to join eBay on their mission to put secondhand fashion front and centre."
She added: "Plus I’d like to think that over the last 8 weeks I have shown that pre-loved serves up amazing looks while bringing out my personality! Watch this space, more will be revealed!"
Fans were quick to congratulate Tasha on the news, as well as former Love Island stars including Laura Anderson, Liberty Poole, Adam Collard, and of course her supportive boyfriend Andrew.
Reality TV star Vicky Pattison also took to the post commenting: “Happy birthday gorgeous!!! And well done.”
While TV presenter and former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt said: “Happy birthday beautiful you deserve it all.”
The collaboration between eBay and Tasha may come as a surprise for some, after viewers speculated whether Islanders might strike up deals with fast fashion brands. In a first ever, the partnership with eBay will see Tasha promoting a responsible and conscious way of shopping that can help both wallets and the planet.
Commenting on the partnership, eBay’s Head of Fashion, Jemma Tadd said, “Over the past 8 weeks, we’ve seen Islander’s embrace pre-loved for the first time ever on mainstream TV, showing that simple additions or swaps to outfits can make all the difference - in so many ways.
“Tasha has been a game-changer and her eye for style is undeniable. She is a fantastic role model for what fashion of the future looks like and we look forward to bringing Tasha’s vision and style to life as our partnership continues.”
