Love Island viewers have rushed to congratulate Kai and Sanam for their win in the final and for 'saving' the the new series of the ITV show.
Teacher Kai is the first to admit that his Love Island journey had been rocky to say the least, having been involved in a fraught pairing with Olivia. His breakthrough came during this year's Casa Amor twist, when Sanam was one of six bombshells to enter the main villa, with the girls were sent to Casa.
While other couples relationships were thrown straight onto the rocks by what happened in Casa Amor, romance blossomed between Kai and social worker Sanam, with her the only new arrival to escape a swift exit, as all the other bombshells were sent packing.

After growing close in Casa, Kai and Sanam's relationship went from strength to strength on the final weeks of Love Island, with support from both viewers and bookies growing so much that there were clear favourites to triumph in Monday's grand finale.
And, after Shaq and Tanya bowed out in fourth and Tom and Samie finished in third in the Love Island final, host Maya Jama revealed that Kai and Sanam had beaten runners up Ron and Lana to the £50,000 prize. Love Island fans had threatened to 'riot' if they didn't win and, in the immediate aftermath of the result being announced, credited Kai and Sanam for saving this series of Love Island.
Taking to Twitter to express those sentiments, one big Kai and Sanam fan wrote: " Maya Jama being the host & Kai & Sanam winning actually saved love island," with a second tweeting: "KAI AND SANAM WINNING SAVED THIS S** SEASON"
