Love Island’s reigning champion, Liam Reardon, has declared he would gladly go back into the villa and do it all over again – even though he’s in a happy relationship with girlfriend Millie Court.
The strapping 22-year-old Welsh hunk was crowned winner of Love Island season seven last summer alongside 25-year-old Millie.
The pair have managed to maintain their relationship since their time on the show and even live together in luxury home in Essex – moving under one roof last November.
But Liam has hinted he would merrily throw all that success away for another chance to enter the Love Island villa and flirt with a whole pack of new bombshell women.
With the initial cast of the 2022 series being unveiled on Monday, Liam took to social media to reminisce about his time on the series last year.
Finding an affinity with 22-year-old Welsh newcomer Liam Llewellyn, Liam shared a screen grab of the Masters Student and shared it via Instagram Stories.
He added a caption, stating: “Liam from Wales hahah go on son,” alongside an emoji of a face wearing sunglasses and a clapping hands emoji.
He then curiously added: “Honestly can’t believe how quick the past year has gone. How I would love to go back and do it all again” – adding a blue heart emoji and a desert island emoji for good measure.
Liam’s girlfriend is excited about the new series, however, as she also flagged the beginning of Love Island 2022 via her own Instagram Stories.
She shared a snap of a contestant named Amber Beckford – a 24-year-old nanny from London – and wrote: “Eeeeek!!!! It’s happening” along with a sticking out tongue face emoji and a flaming heart emoji.
She added: “I can’t bloody wait to watch. 7 days to gooo,” along with a clapping hand emoji.
Meanwhile, WalesOnline reports Love Island fans have joked the show is ‘recycling Liams’ after casting Mr Llewellyn for the new series.
They explained: “After the success of last year's Welsh Liam, fans of Love Island have joked that the summertime show is 'recycling' Welsh Liams, as there have now been two of them in consecutive years
“ Branding Liam Llewellyn 'Welsh Liam 2.0', fans of the show have been voicing their opinions on the new cohort of Islanders, and they have not spared Master's student Liam from being the butt of their jokes.”
They flagged one twitter user who laughed: "Another Welsh Liam OMG!!!!! How crazy. Welcome to the show Liam - let's see if you're more loyal then last year's Welsh Liam. The producers are big on the Welsh contestants this year but that's ok because Welsh people are friendly and I love the accent too."
While another joked: "Free Love Island from the bondage of Welsh Liams."
Love Island series eight begins on ITV and via the ITV hub on Monday 6 June at 9pm.
