Love Island winner Liam Reardon's 'special' family home in Merthyr is up for sale and it's absolutely stunning

Love Island star Liam Reardon has revealed that his stunning childhood home on the edge of the Brecon Beacons has been put on the market. The 23-year-old, who won the seventh series of the ITV2 show alongside Millie Court last year, shared the listing with his followers on Instagram, saying it was "bittersweet" to see it go up for sale.

The huge five-bedroom property in Pontsarn, Merthyr Tydfil, is situated in the Brecon Beacons national park and boasts a swimming pool, home gym and three stables, as well as an enormous garden and summer house. Liam's "special" childhood home is on the market with Ramsey & White estate agents in Aberdare. It won't come cheap, however, as it has been listed for sale for offers in the region of just under £900,000.

The house was originally built in 1907 but was in a derelict state when Liam's parents bought it more than 30 years ago, only for them to turn it into the modern family home it is today. The estate agents have praised the star's family for their "true labour of love," describing the property as "stunning" and "special".

The listing reads: "Ramsay & White Estate Agents are privileged to bring to the market this stunning 5 bedroom detached set within its own grounds surrounded by the natural beauty of the Welsh countryside in Vaynor in the Beacons National Park.

"Originally built in 1907 for the original owner of "The Church Tavern" the property has a rich history with current owners bringing it back from being derelict as true labour of love over the last 30 years! The plot that comes in just under an acre is a true tranquil paradise with its own swimming pool, jacuzzi, summer house, three stables, gym and large garage. A credit to the owners, this is special".

On the ground floor of the property, a modern kitchen, bathroom, living room and study are all accessible off a huge hallway, while upstairs offers "lots of space for those who need it" with five bedrooms and a first floor bathroom. Two of the bedrooms also come with shower en suites, while the master bedroom has a large balcony that looks over the grounds.

The house is also surrounded by stunning scenery and popular walking routes. Situated about four miles north of Merthyr town centre, it is close to the communities of Cefn Coed, Trefechan and Pontsticill.

Taking to Instagram to announce his family were selling the house, Liam said that he was "sad seeing it go" as he reflected on the "great memories" he had there growing up. However, he admitted that it was "time to downsize and move on" and praised his parents for all their hard work.

"So that bittersweet time has come," he wrote. "my family home is now up for sale. This is the only house I’ve ever lived in up until I moved to Essex. All of my life living there and what a special time it was. I can only admire the amount of work my parents have put into this house over the years.

"It has been a wonderful family home for all of us who lived there, but now it’s time for a new family to make new memories in. It will be sad seeing it go as it’s such a special home but it’s time to down size and move on."

He added: "Also going to miss the days where me and my sister would have pool parties while Mam and Dad were away. Great memories."

The reality TV star split from ex-girlfriend Millie in July, less than a year after the pair won Love Island, finishing ahead of Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran to win the £50,000 prize. The couple had moved in together in Essex, and Liam revealed in a recent Q&A with his Instagram followers that he had chosen to remain there following the break-up, despite his love for Wales.

He said: "I absolutely love Wales and everything about it, also being with all family and friends from home (and obviously all the mountains) but I've been living in Essex for a year now and I've come to really like it. I've found myself meeting and growing relationships with people I never would've met.

"I'm closer to friends in London which I now get to see more too. Career-wise I think it's where I need to be too due to there being more opportunities in London."
