Love Island ended on a massive cliffhanger last night but not before presenter Maya Jama had announced that Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda had been dumped from the villa. During the episode that aired on Wednesday, March 1, the host crashed a Beach Club party to reveal the results of a public vote.
Making an unexpected entrance Maya said: "You all look like you're having a cute little time, sorry to crash the party, could you all line up in your couples please."
She added: "I'm sure you're all asking yourselves why I'm here, I've got some very important news. The public have been voting for the most compatible couple. The couples with the fewest votes risk being dumped from the Island tonight."

Maya then asked Olivia and Maxwell, Claudia Fogarty and Keanan Brand, Casey O'Gorman and Rosie Seabook and Shaq Muhamad and Tanya Mahenga to step forward, before revealing Olivia and Maxwell and the least votes and would be dumped from the Island.
"Obviously it is sad to leave these guys but I found what I came looking for, so I’m happy to be leaving with him," Olivia told Maya when asked how she felt. However, in a huge twist the presenter then revealed two more contestants would also be making their exit.
She said: "Olivia and Maxwell are not the only ones leaving. Two more islanders will also be dumped tonight. That decision is not down to the public or your fellow islanders, it’s actually down to you, Olivia and Maxwell."
The Islanders then looked on in shock and the episode ended before Olivia and Maxwell's decision had been aired. Viewers were stunned by the twist with many taking to social media to share their thoughts
"I can't believe they're letting Liv and Maxwell pick a couple to dump, this is one of the worst things to happen this series!" wrote one, while another fumed: "Why give people that just got dumped that power? why not people that aren't in the bottom?"
"So Maxwell and Olivia have to choose which couples go? and they are also leaving what a twist," said a third, while a fourth commented: "PLOT TWIST!!! I was too fast!! Was NOT expecting that ending." Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
