Love Island viewers have been left feeling infuriated after spotting a pattern when it comes to the ITV2 dating show. The series, which is fast approaching the 2022 final, is known for its epic cliffhangers when it comes to explosive recouplings and brutal dumpings, but fans of the programme have noticed another problem.
In two recent episodes, viewers were left annoyed when dramatic challenges were promised, only for the tasks to be split in two, with the other half playing out in a separate instalment. This was true for Movie Night, which ended on a cliffhanger on Friday, July 15.
Viewers tuned in to see the boys and girls compete in a pub quiz in order to pick a short clip to watch. The films showcased the secret - and not-so-secret - betrayals, stolen kisses and conversations had from the start of the series to now, but as the drama unfolded the episode cut to the credits.

Due to the Love Island schedule, which sees a spin-off show air on Saturday nights instead, fans of ITV2 had to wait until Sunday, July 17 to see how the challenge played out. Then on Monday, July 18, viewers settled in to watch Snog, Marry, Avoid, only for the same thing to happen again.
The task kicked off with the girls all choosing which boy they would snog, which they would marry and who they wanted to pie. The results saw Luca Bish and Dami Hope get many pies to the face from their fellow contestants.
But viewers will have to tune in on Tuesday, July 19 to see what the boys decide to do as the challenge ended half way through. Sharing a picture of previous contestant Maura Higgins looking less than impressed, one fan quizzed: "Why are they splitting the challenges between episodes?"
In response, another social media user wrote: "I know… driving me crazy." While a second suggested: "I hope it's cause there's drama that follows."
Others, agreed with another person taking to Twitter to comment: "Scuse me Love Island what's the deal with splitting challenges over two episodes?! I'm not here for it."
While another said: "The way the producers are splitting up these episodes is so annoying." And a third questioned: "Why are they splitting these episodes up like this? This ain't it man."
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
