The ninth series of Love Island is well underway and three weeks in, drama has already ensued and caused uproar among this year's single boys and girls. With multiple recouplings, brand new bombshells causing shockwaves throughout the South African villa and had heads turning left, right and centre, the cast members have been providing viewers with top notch entertainment.
But one thing viewers aren't so pleased with that changes each series is the term used by the Love Islanders to express that they are going to be making conversation with - or grovelling to - the girl or boy that has taken their fancy. It seems viewers can't get over the cringey term that in past years has been known as 'grafting' or 'mad moves', with many citing it gives them the 'ick'.
The phrase 'on job' has been used by many of the boys in the last few weeks - especially when new bombshells enter the villa, such as Samie Elishi, Casey O'Gorman and Jordan Odofin - but fans of the show are complaining that it is being overused, taking to Twitter calling it a 'gross phrase' supported with a plethora of memes to showcase their disdain.

One fan of the show wrote: "On job is such a gross phrase, i don't wanna hear my man call flirting with me a job"
Twitter user @Katy_Notley also said: "CANNOT bear to hear ‘on job’ come out of another man’s mouth. SMH #loveisland", alongside @_amber_ox who wrote: "If Ron says “on job” once more I might be sick #loveisland."
"If I hear ‘on job’ one.more.time #LoveIsland" added another.
@bethanyebbie also commented: "The “on job” line in #loveisland is actually giving me the ick. I hope they get rid of it soon" as well as @missamberjadex who penned: "If they say ‘on the job’ one more time major ick lol. #loveisland"
It comes after Lana, who had been the romantic interest of Ron Hall who uses the phrase often, had been put in his place by fellow Love Islander Shaq for treating her like a "safety net". Ron admitted his head had been turned by new girl Samie who had been chosen to go on a date with new boy Casey on Thursday, February 2. She admitted: "Things with me and Casey are going well, I feel like we vibe well, so who knows what could happen."
