Love Island viewers call Movie Night 'messiest ever' as contestants turn on one another

The drama continued as ITV2 dating show Love Island aired the second part of its annual Movie Night segment on Thursday, February 23. Ahead of the episode, viewers were apprehensive as the previous day’s episode showed only 15 minutes of Movie Night. Read more about that here.

The annual segment is known for testing couples. This year was no different with the majority of the Islanders’ relationships now at risk.

With Tanya Manhenga and Casey O’Gorman already put in the spotlight, the remaining Islanders looked nervous as the rest of Movie Night played out. Read on to find out who was affected by the explosive episode.

Thursday’s episode began with a clip dedicated to Ron Hall. After hearing that he thought she’d return from Casa Amor recoupled, Olivia Hawkins told Ron: “You’re not my friend. Not at all.” She then burst into tears, accusing him of being a “fake friend”.

Olivia then had her own time on the big screen. In a clip called ‘Liv Actually’, her Casa Amor antics were shown to the rest of the villa.

In one moment, she could be seen forgetting partner Kai Fagan’s name. She was also seen sharing her thoughts on several of the other relationships including Tom and Samie and Kai and Sanam.

Talking about Kai in the clip, Olivia said: “His head has turned like four times and he’s been in the bottom three like three times already.” After watching the moment back, Olivia confessed: “It’s nothing that I wouldn’t say.”

Elsewhere, a clip on Will Young's antics left Jessie Wynter in tears. After watching what he got up to whilst she was in Casa Amor, she broke down and said: “I don’t know how I feel.” Will, meanwhile, could barely look at the screen and continually apologised for his actions.

This year’s Movie Night garnered a huge reaction on social media. “This has been the messiest movie night. These islanders absolutely hate each other. The therapy after this,” one viewer said after watching.

A second wrote: “This year is honestly the most incompatible cast they’ve ever had on.” And a third echoed: “This is the messiest movie night in Love Island history.”

A fourth person then wrote: “the side eyes… the shouting… THIS THE MESSIEST MOVIE NIGHT AF.” Let us know what you thought of this year’s Movie Night in the comments below.
