Love Island contest Gemma Owen has sparked quite the Twitter debate after entering the villa.
The 19-year-old daughter of former football player Michael Owen left both viewers and her fellow islanders stunned when she revealed her age as the show kicked off on Monday night.
Not only is she the youngest islander this year but she is one of the youngest islanders in the history of Love Island.

Viewers took to Twitter to question why such a young woman is looking for ‘the one.’ “Gemma said she's been single for a year and a half. She’s 19 so she’s been single since she was 17, what is this?,” Tweeted one user.
“Why is a 19-year-old on the show? This is so sad,” wrote another.
The drama only continued when Gemma kissed the 27-year-old contestant Davide during a game of dares.
The teen was initially paired with student Liam, but when told to kiss the islander she fancies the most, she headed straight for the Italian man.
Again Twitter expressed outrage. “Gemma honey, Davide is a man. You are a literal child,” said one viewer.
Other users were threatening to contact Ofcom, the UK regulatory body for TV, radio and video-on-demand sector.
“I’m going to email Ofcom if Gemma and Davide get together, this should be illegal,” said one.
Love Island continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV2.
