Love Island UK‘s Molly-Mae Hague has finally returned to social media after parting ways with fellow Love Island contestant and fiancé Tommy Fury.
For those who’ve been out of the loop with all the messy villa tea, earlier this month, Molly and Tommy sent shockwaves throughout the Love Island fanbase by announcing that they’ve parted ways after being together for five years.
Since then, Molly has been radio silent on social media until today.
On Wednesday (Australian time), the beloved Love Island UK contestant shared a photo on Instagram, thanking everyone for their support during this rough period.
“Thank you for being the best online friends I could’ve ever wished for,” she wrote alongside a white heart emoji.
Since sharing the lovely post, Molly received a bunch of supportive messages from fans and fellow Love Island participants.
“LOVE AND ADORE YOU,” Maura Higgins wrote.
“We love you Molly ❤️❤️,” Love Island Australia fan-favourite Jessie Wynter commented.
“WE ARE WITH YOU MOLLY,” one fan wrote alongside a plethora of heart and teddy bear emojis.
Why did Love Island UK‘s Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury break up?
To give you a heart-shattering recap of how things ended, Molly and Tommy both shared Instagram statements announcing their split. Usually, when celeb couples break up, they share a joint statement.
But for this reality TV pair, they shared two separate versions of the news.
In Tom’s statement, the pro boxer said he was “heartbroken to share that Molly and I decided to end our relationship.”
“The past five years have led us to having our beautiful baby girl Bambi and I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority. Please respect our privacy, and our family’s privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time.”
In Molly’s statement, the fan-favourite went into detail about how she felt about the news, explaining that she “never in a million years did [she] think [she’d] ever have to write” a breakup announcement.
“After five years of being together, I never imagined our story would end, especially not in this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end,” she wrote.
“I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority.
“You have all been part of our journey and I feel it’s right to share this with you all.
“Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time. I’ll be back when it feels right.”
With the separate statements — and the different vibes they both bring — some fans reckon that Molly had been wronged by Tommy in some way.
According to 9Entertainment, a spokesperson for Tom denied that cheating was the cause of their relationship breakdown.
As of writing, neither party has revealed the real reason as to why they called things off and honestly, I totally understand if they never do.
It’s just heartbreaking to see a relationship that blossomed on TV go to shit.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, love does not exist.
