Just when fans thought this year's Love Island couldn't get any juicier, ITV bosses have reportedly made a huge change that is likely to come as a huge surprise to many viewers. While previous series of the popular dating show has seen an abundance of explosive scenes, from brutal break ups to shock exits, it seems there is going to be plenty more drama to come thanks to a new twist.
Although the cast of Love Island boys are usually the ones to leave the villa to reside at the show's second villa, Casa Amor, for several days to mingle with a group of new single girls - all is expected to change this series. According to reports, it will instead be the girls going into Casa Amor this year, not the boys, the Mirror reports.
The move will mean the female Islanders, including the likes of Gemma Owen, Indiyah Polack, Paige Thorne, Tasha Ghouri and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, may well have their heads turned during their getaway, while the boys sweat it out in the villa. At the end, the Islanders are given the choice as to whether they want to stick with their original partner, or couple up with someone new from Casa Amor.

It is said that in an upcoming episode, the girls will be left thinking the show has planned for them to go out for some girly cocktails. But actually, they reportedly will actually be heading off to the iconic Casa Amor, where they will be greeted by new sexy single men - - putting many of the couples' budding romances to the ultimate test, that not all can survive.
Speaking to the Mail Online, an insider has claimed the Casa Amor trip will be "the girls' holiday of their dreams". They said: "This year it's all about the girls – they have kept the boys on their toes and will continue to do so by leaving the main villa and heading to Casa Amor."
The source added: "The new arrivals are ready to turn heads and for the first time in three years it will be the female stars of the show preparing to walk back into the villa with potentially a new man on their arm. It's all to play for and the likes of Gemma and Luca's relationship, as well as Tasha and Andrew's will be well and truly put to the test."
The big twist will come three years after the girls last visited Casa Amor, which took place in 2019, with Amber Gill, Molly-Mae Hague, and Maura Higgins on the show at the time - who have all since gone to score TV stardom.
In the latest Love Island teaser trailer, fans are given a glimpse of the girls' trip to the villa, with a surprise text telling them they will supposedly be invited out for cocktails. "Girls, it’s time to get the drinks flowing as you’re off for a girls’ night out. #cocktailhour #shakenandstirred," it reads. The teaser then playfully adds: "What exactly will the girls' cocktail night entail? And is everything as it seems?"
The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment.
