Love Island stars Samie and Tom are third couple to split just one month after leaving villa

Love Island stars Samie Elishi and Tom Clare have gone their separate ways just two months after making their relationship official.

The couple were fan favourites on the ITV2 dating show who won the hearts of viewers as they finished in third place. Samie, 22, and Tom, 23, placed behind runners up Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall and winners Kai Fagan and Shanam Harrinanan.

Samie and Tom are the third pairing from this year's Love Island Winter Sun in South Africa to split up, joining Casey O'Gorman, 26, and Rosie Seabrook, 24, and Olivia Hawkins, 27, and Maxwell Samuda, 23, on the list.

A friend of the duo has told The Sun that they remain on good terms but they haven't been able to make things work outside of the Cape Town villa.

The source said: "Samie and Tom have sadly decided to call it a day. There is a lot of love and respect there but it just wasn’t going anywhere.

“The distance between them was too much and they are both really focused on their careers post Love Island.”

The pair announced they'd made things official in a loved up social media post in March.

After enjoying a romantic date night in London's famous Italian restaurant, Gloria Trattoria, influencer Samie excitedly revealed they had taken the next step on Instagram as she announced: "This is my boyfriend everyone."

But earlier this month they sparked rumours they had split after they were spotted on different nights out from each other as Samie partied at a Pretty Little thing party while her footballer beau was notably absent.

A fourth couple from the series have also split as Zara Deniz and Jordan Odofin have called time on their budding romance. They were not in the villa at the same time, as they met on the outside and shortly after confirmed they were dating.

However, two days after the televised Reunion special aired, Zara took to Instagram to announce their split. "Hey everyone, Jordan and I would like to acknowledge the increasing public support for us to be seen as an exclusive couple.

"After a few dates since leaving the villa, we know that we definitely get along and enjoy each other's company. It's been two and a half weeks of getting to know each other and for now, it's a fun friendship between us. We have a lot of respect for each other and that's what matters."

Samie and Tom both entered the show as bombshells but soon became popular with viewers as their budding romance unfolded on screen, with only one spanner thrown in the works in the shape of Scots bombshell Lydia Karakyriakou, who tempted Tom during Casa Amor week.
