Love Island stars Olivia and Alex Bowen have announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy named AJ. The couple, who came second in the 2016 edition of the ITV series, shared the news on Instagram.
The new mum posted a photo of her holding her son, Abel Jacob Bowen, sat on the sofa alongside her partner. “You are everything," she captioned the photo. In his own post, Alex added: “Abel Jacob Bowen, but you can call him AJ … The day our lives changed for the better 10/06/22.”
Former Love Island cast members Katie Salmon, Sam Bird and Chloe Crowhurst all sent their well-wishes to the couple, as well as celebrity friends including Love Island narrator Ian Stirling, Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge and former The Only Way Is Essex star Danielle Armstrong.

Former Corrie star Helen Flanagan commented: "Congratulations darling x", while Geordie Shore's Charlotte Crosby said: "Congratulation my lovely". Francesa Allen, from Love Island's 2019 series, posted four red love hearts underneath Olivia's post and last year's runner up Faye Winter sent: "Congratulations, beautiful family."
Alex and Olivia got married in September 2018 and are one of just a handful of couples who met on the show and have since stayed together. The couple lost out in the 2016 series of the ITV2 show to Nathan Massey and Cara Delahoyde, who got married in 2019 and are parents to son Freddie-George and daughter Delilah.
Other Love Island couples who have stayed strong include Jamie Jewitt and Camilla Thurlow, who met on the 2017 series of the show, got married in 2020 and have two children, and their co-stars Dom Lever and Jessica Shears, who tied the knot in 2018 and have a son together.
Olivia shared the news she was expecting with a post on Instagram on New Year’s Day, showing Polaroid photos of her husband kissing her baby bump, a onesie bearing the words Baby Bowen, and pictures of the scan, as well of the couple holding a pair of baby booties. She captioned the post: “Happy New … Baby Bowen.”
