Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu was gifted a Limerick jersey by a young fan after she was trolled online for mispronouncing the city’s name.
The Turkish-born beauty was a big hit in Limerick over the weekend as she made a special appearance to celebrate the success of her BPerfect Cosmetics Tik Tok viral collection at Shaws in the Crescent Shopping Centre. Limerick was the final stop of her three day Irish tour, which also saw her visit Wexford, Belfast and Dublin.
Hundreds of fans including some who had queued from 7am on Saturday morning turned out to welcome Ekin-Su to Limerick after her blunder on Instagram went viral when she pronounced Limerick as Lime-Rick.

However, her fans did not mind as they presented her with a Limerick GAA Jersey on the day.
Speaking to us on Friday at the start of her Irish tour with BPerfect Cosmetics, she said: “I know it’s Limerick but I think I’m going to stick with Lime-Rick because it’s so iconic now.
“For someone who has never been to that area, you would read it as Lime-rick.”
But she said she didn't receive any nasty feedback from fans after the blunder.
“No not at all. It was all good feedback. People found it funny,” she added.
Speaking to Live95, she explained: "My Instagram went crazy in five seconds.
"I had one person message me saying it's not pronounced [like that] so I thought okay and in five minutes I had fifty hundred thousand Instagram messages, voicenotes, fans saying it's 'Limerick' and I went oh my god."
