Love Island bosses have spoken out about huge changes coming to this year's new season.
The villa of love is set to return to ITV on June 6 with a brand new line up of sexy singletons looking for love. Fans are excited for the show entering its eighth season, as last year saw Millie Court and Liam Reardon crowned as the winners.
But taking to Reddit today, the show's executive producer, Mike Spencer, confirmed that big changes are coming. He teased at the future of Casa Amor and promised fans that a 'gross' challenge would be leaving.

He took part in a question and answer session on the online forum. Fans asked all sorts from what the line up is like to what things will be added to the show.
Getting rid of a "gross" challenge
While answering questions during a Q&A on Reddit today, Mike was asked by one fan: "Why the spitting food challenges. I beg youse to stop, such a waste of food! I really think doing challenges with incentives or couple building activities would be so much better."
He replied: "We are moving away from the food challenges as previously seen so hopefully that sorts that one."
While fans weren't keen on seeing the contestants spitting food into each others mouths, they were still intrigued about meal times in the villa. A fan asked: "We see the islanders having breakfast together and snacking throughout the day... what do they typically eat at mealtimes? I assume you have a team of chefs on-site for the islanders and production crew. Do you all eat together?"
Mike replied: "Yes this is a super popular question. So the Islanders tend to make their own breakfast and we cater for them at lunch and dinner. They have a real mix of foods, everything from lovely fresh salads to roast dinners on a Sunday! Even in that heat they still have a roast dinner."
The future of Casa Amor
Casa Amor is one of the best parts of Love Island. It really puts love to the test as viewers get to see who is loyal and who gives in to lust.
Mike teased that Casa Amor might not be returning to the show this year. During the Q&A, one fan asked: "Will Casa Amor be back this year? Also has the cast been chosen for this year and have you seen them?"
He replied: "I have met the cast of 2022 and think they are a brilliant group. I am excited to see them head into the villa. In terms of Casa Amor, we never confirm or deny whether we are bringing it back. Would you want it to come back this year?"
The Casa Amor property has not yet been unveiled or revealed.

Bringing back prizes for winning challenges
While the challenges will be getting changed, the production team are also considering reintroducing prizes for the islanders after each challenge. One fan asked: "Why do we never see the islanders receiving a prize for winning challenges? This seemed to stop randomly after S3, is there a reason for this?"
Mike replied: "I like your way of thinking and I do agree with you. I will speak to the team and see what I can do. It is something we used to do like you say and there is no massive reason as to why they stopped but leave it with me!"
Future spin-offs of Love Island
Fans were interested in if there would ever be any spin-off shows for Love Island. One Reddit user asked: "Would you ever consider bringing back the legendary Celebrity Love Island or has it been done too many times with other reality shows now?"
Mike replied: "That would be a question for the channel. I would personally love to make an ‘All stars’ in the future with past Islanders across all series. What do you think?"
Love Island will return on ITV2 and ITV Hub on Monday, June 6 at 9pm
