Love Island secrets prove the cast eat 'repetitive' food and wash up themselves

Hugo Hammond has been sharing some Love Island secrets, giving away behind-the-scenes action that never makes it to air in a recent Q&A.

The 24-year-old star was ditched from the island last week and is now connecting with fans directly via social media.

Taking the chance to get closer to his fans over the weekend, Hugo invited them to ask him any questions they liked about his time on the hit dating show during an Instagram Stories Q&A.

And during the course of his interactions, he said that the meals provided for the Islanders became “repetitive” – but said the Islanders were all very good at washing up after themselves.

Asked what kind of food was provided, and where the contestants dined, Hugo said: “The food was decent.

“We had a lot of chicken and fish so it got a little bit repetitive and they served it by bringing out tables and chairs by the kitchen.

“We’d eat, we’d scran, finish it up, wash up all the dishes ourselves and then they’d take the tables and chairs away and we’d carry on living our best Island lives.”

He also shared his views on some of his fellow Islanders – revealing he wants Millie Court and Liam Reardon to win the show over Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish.

He said: “For me, Milliam take it.

“Their connection is just out of this world. They have so much fun together and I genuinely think they are perfect for each other.”

He also said he is enjoying watching Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran growing close again – despite the fact he blasted Toby for ditching Chloe for Abigail Rawlings when she entered the villa.

He said: “If Chloe is happy, and Toby is happy, I am happy.

“Obviously we had that fire pit situation, but Toby is a really good mate of mine. I genuinely just wanted him to do better, and I think he’s taken it on board, so, yeah. Team Chloby.”

Hugo also insisted fans saw the real him during his time on the hit ITV2 reality romance show and that he doesn’t regret a minute of his time on the Island.

He gushed: “I leave the villa with zero regrets. I was myself throughout.

“I met some incredible people, had such a journey, but at the end of the day I was just Hugo and that’s all I can be.”

That said, however, he did reveal he didn’t have any extra special connections with any of the female contestants while he was starring on the show.

Asked by a direct fan if any of the co-stars touched his penis, Hugo laughed: “No, unfortunately no one did. However, Love Island did provide us with these Love Island condoms.”

He then teased that some of the other contestants have been getting intimate inside the villa.

He said, seemingly with a knowing smile: “Obviously I didn’t get to use mine, however, do you think anyone had the chance to use theirs?”

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub – episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
