Love Island winner Millie Court has revealed what really happens when contestants get a day off in the villa.
The 25-year-old, who won last year’s show with boyfriend Liam Reardon, took to her YouTube channel to spill the ITV2 dating show’s behind-the-scenes secrets.
In a Q&A session with fans, Millie said the Love Islanders were never told in advance they were getting a ‘chill day’.
She explained: “Sometimes they would tell us halfway through the day so we’d stop for lunch, then the producers would come out and be like ‘so guys today is a chill day’.
“We’d all be like ‘woo!’ and we’d know that we weren’t being filmed and didn’t have to do anything.”

Millie shared that some contestants would use the day off to do make-up and hair tutorials in the Beach Hut or Just Eat Challenges “to get that out the way”.
But most of the time, because they couldn’t leave the villa unless it was to go on a date, they would just be chilling round the pool.
“You’re in your bikini from the morning so we would just all chill. There was no pressure,” she explained.
“Most of the time we’d spend it in the pool mucking around. It was so relaxing.”
Another good thing about chill days is the entire cast were allowed to order a takeaway – which Millie says was usually pizza or McDonald’s.
She said: “Most of the time it was McDonald’s. We’d all request McDonald’s. We were all just gagging for it.
“We’d get ready for bed early. Put our pyjamas on or our loungewear sets and eat our McDonald’s.”
Millie revealed the islanders were allowed treats such as ice cream, sweets and biscuits on chill days, adding it was a “proper binge”.
But one thing contestants are not allowed to do when the cameras have stopped rolling is talk to each other about anything to do with the show or gossip.
“If you’re not being filmed you couldn’t talk about it because we had to save it all for the cameras,” Millie said.
Another twist on off days was islanders were made to sleep in same sex beds rather than the person they are currently coupled up with.
Millie said they wouldn’t find out until that night who they would be sleeping next to or which bed it was in, so would always have to change the sheets.
The next morning if they had only filmed a half day before, Millie shared the girls had to put the same bikinis back on for continuity.
She said: “We’d sometimes have to wear the same bikini two days in a row. That was a bit grim.
“We would wash the bottoms in the sink and then walk around with a wet bum for a bit until it dried in the sun.”
