An emotional Tyrique Hyde was left close to tears and 'fuming' by the end of Wednesday night's Love Island, as he stayed loyal to Ella Thomas, only for her to return from Casa Amor with new boy Ouzy See.
Coupled up from day one, thanks to the first public vote of the new series, Tyrique and Ella have had a few bumps in the road on their time on the ITV show so far; but after a heart to heart during a romantic date they agreed to 'close things off' and not pursue anything with anyone else.
That big decision was made a few days before Casa Amor opened its doors once again. Love Island's chaotic second villa can always be relied onto stir up trouble, but not many predicted it would for Tyrique and Ella and certainly not Ella being the one to stray. But that's exactly what happened during the Love Island recoupling, when after getting close to Ouzy in Casa, she returned hand in hand with the lad she already knew from back home.
A dejected Tyrique looked shocked and upset as Ella returned and, when asked by host Maya Jama if he had anything to say, replied: "Didn't really expect from her, but I guess she was never really mine," before looking at Ella and adding: "Honestly hope it was worth it, 'cos we're done completely."
In response, Ella told him: "I felt I gave you time to explore when you need to explore and I owed it myself. I didn't go into Casa expecting to be open; I was the last person would thought I'd even look at anyone, but I didn't know Ouzy was going to be there and I wanted to explore it more with him. But it doesn't mean me and you's over, in my eyes."
However, shutting her straight down, Tyrique shot back: "I'm telling you it's over. You gave me my time to explore, when we were open. We then decided to close things off," before later walking away and refusing to talk to her.
