Teddy Soares has said he has ‘a voice again’ following his split from Faye Winter.
The Love Island stars met on the summer 2021 series of Love Island and ended up coming third on the show.
They moved into their ‘dream home’ later that year with Faye even setting up her own home account on Instagram.
But after months of not being seen together, the couple confirmed their split in February this year.
“I wanted to let you know that after lots of time and consideration, Teddy and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Faye wrote on social media.
“Thank you all so much for supporting our relationship and sharing the journey with us. I’m forever grateful.”
Heartbroken Teddy has largely stayed silent on their split, apart from telling fans it was ‘taking time, but we’re getting there’.
The financial consultant revealed he and estate agent Faye had made a pact not to talk about their relationship to the press – but claimed she had since broken it.
“Faye talks about me in the press and we agreed not to, but I don’t speak about her,” Teddy told MailOnline.
“I’ve never been through a public break up before, so it’s difficult seeing it everywhere and seeing things she posts online.”
Teddy shared he feels he is now ‘coming out of his shell’ again and has been going out more following the break up.
“I have a voice again. I feel like I’m coming out of my shell again and going to events and going out more, which is really nice,” the 28-year-old added.
Teddy admits one of the hardest things for him to see is Faye posting pictures of their golden retriever Bonnie, which they shared when they were together.
Although it looks like Faye may have got custody of their dog after they both moved out of their London home.
Faye has now gone back to Devon, where she is from, and recently posted pics of her ‘safe space’ with dog Bonnie.
Sharing snaps of her new pad on her Faye Home Instagram, she told her 200,000 followers: “Welcome to our home.”
The 27-year-old continued: “This time we wanted nothing but open spaces and light. I think we got exactly what we wanted.
“This month has been about prioritising mine and Bonnie’s safe place and home together.
“I’ve never lived on my own before so was naturally worried about how lonely I’d feel. However, the truth is I’ve never felt less alone in my life!”
She added: “Life is about choices, choices we can’t be certain about the outcome, but the choice to be back in Devon is something I got so right.
“I’m a happy version of myself again, actually I just feel like me again.”
The reason for why Faye and Teddy split has never been publicly revealed, with neither of them commenting.
In a chat with OK! magazine, Faye – who previously said Teddy was ‘The One’ - dropped hints they just weren’t on the same page when it came to their futures.
She shared: “We’re from very different worlds and we were trying to build a relationship in this very high pressure environment.
“We got moulded together, but we had different dreams and ambitions and I had to respect Teddy’s.
“We were so similar and we got on so well. He’ll forever have a very special place in my heart.”
