Tasha Ghouri's dad shared his thoughts online after seeing a video clip that appeared to show Jacques O'Neill mocking his daughter Jacques left the villa early, citing issues with his own mental health as the reason.
Some have now criticised him for being a bully, as he mocked Tasha's speech in the final. In the clip, which was said to have been posted to Jacques' private Instagram story, Jacques can be heard saying: "You are a liar, an actress, get the f**k out."
It comes as Jacques admits he was getting death threats after leaving the villa. The Castleford Tigers rugby player said he was "scared of life" and what to do next after his time on the hit show.
He does however claim that many were thanking him for his stance on mental health, when talking on Good Morning Britain, saying: "I was getting fully grown men message me saying 'love you, you're an inspiration'. I was overwhelmed by it all."
His recent comments about Tasha has led to a harsh online backlash that included Tasha's own father, who expressed his disappointment after seeing the clip, report the Mirror . Many think that his advocating for mental health seems hollow after the clip came out.
Taking to Twitter, Tasha's father responded to a post about the video, as he appeared to make a dig at Jacques' behaviour, saying: "Some people grow and mature from their Island experience, some don’t. It is what it is."
Angry fans have been taking to social media themselves to fume over Jacques' comment.
"Jacques mocking Tasha in his private story is not only DISGUSTING but a COWARD move. Only a few weeks ago he was advocating for mental health," one angry fan penned.
Another added: "I was willing to give Jacques the benefit of the doubt and that he was truly working on himself. Then you see the clip of him belittling Tasha who's done nothing to him. Redemption arc folded like a deck of cards. He’s still a bullying p**** and using [mental health] is even worse."
A third shared: "I’m not even shocked I won’t lie to you he radiates bully energy watching him as the season went on reminded me exactly like the guys I went to school with who bullied those they saw weaker than them but would disguise it all in the name of banter when it’s anything but. Hope this opens people eyes to the exact type of guy Jacques is."
Jacques is not the only Islander who has been accused of bullying Tasha. Luca Bish and Dami Hope also apologised to the star during their time in the villa, after taking things too far with certain comments they made during a game.
