Love Island's Tasha Ghouri says 'shambles' of a dating life led her to villa to find love

Tasha Ghouri is entering the Love Island villa next week in the hope of finding true love and aims to put her "shambles" of a dating life firmly behind her.

The 23-year-old from Thirsk in Scotland was one of 11 Islanders to be announced for the upcoming eighth series of the show which hits our screens on Monday June 6 at 9pm on ITV2.

And the blonde beauty admits that she is using the opportunity as a chance "to find ‘the one’ and have a great summer at the same.

The dancer/model will become the show's first ever deaf contestant and claims she is now at a stage in her life when she is ready to settle down and meet Mr Right.

Speaking ahead of the show's launch, she confessed she will bring "goofiness" to the villa and said she's a joker.

"I’m also sassy," she said. "But I think I’ll just bring myself as a person and I’ll feel like that’s enough!

She went on to reveal she thinks she is still single as potential suitors often feel intimidated by her.

"I've been on so many dates before but it just hasn’t worked out for me," she continued.

"I haven’t found that click with somebody yet. I think I’m waiting for that click moment and that spark, it’s all about the spark on the first date."

ITV bosses will be hoping viewers get to see the wild side rather than the "nap queen" version she can turn into.

And Tasha is hoping she'll also inspire people because of how open she is about her hearing and cochlear implant.

Last year, she featured in a modelling campaign and her implant sent her viral.

On the dating front, she openly admits she hasn't yet been in love in life but says she quickly likes people and often wears her heart on her sleeve.

She described herself as normally being someone he is very "loyal to my friends and family" and someone who will always have their backs.

However, she realises that while she's "girls' girl" she won't be afraid to step on someone's toes to get the man she wants.

To do so, she admits she might have to break out her "best talent" - her dancing.

*Love Island starts at 9pm Monday 6th June on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
