Love Island's Tanya and Shaq face brutal truth as they head home amid warnings from family

Love Island's Tanya and Shaq have been dealt a bitter blow since leaving the villa in South Africa.

The pair came fourth in the final on Monday after a rocky road to romance.

They were beaten to the top spot by Kai and Sanam, who got a healthy 44% of the vote - but Tanya, 23 and Shaq, 24, received just 2%.

The couple were only given a 50/1 chance to win by bookies ahead of the finale and are yet to comment on the voting statistics.

However they did say were ready to start a life together when they left the villa.

But fans reckon the pair will be the first couple to call it quits from the show, particularly after Shaq's family reaction to Tanya.

One of his friends said she had "done him dirty", while his sister warned him not to trust and forgive too quickly.

She said: "I wish she had dealt with situations differently. Going forward don’t be so quick to forgive, people have to actually do the work to show you that they’ve… do you know what I mean?

"We could tell you weren’t yourself, it was hard to watch you."

Tanya and Shaq were initially coupled up until the model's head was turned by Martin. Shaq was heartbroken when he found out he'd been replaced - but then things took a turn.

After a lot of soul searching in her bronze bikini, the influencer realised she'd made a terrible mistake and pledged her love for Shaq, asking him to forgiver her.

After the emotional outburst, the pair recoupled - but fans weren't buying it.

Commenting on the voting stats, one viewer said: "Shaq and Tanya getting 2% was the highlight of my day."

While another said: "Shaq and Tanya getting 2% of the public vote…they deserve it."

Tanya admitted she wasn't ready to meet Shaq's other sister after her awkward row with his sibling.

The contestants had the opportunity to reunite with their families and meet their partner's loved ones before the final on Monday.

But things got awkward for Tanya and Shaq when his sister confronted his girlfriend about her antics in Casa Amor.

Shaq's sister Tahira told Tanya they needed to 'have a conversation' after she got out of the villa.

She added that Tanya was only in her 'semi-good books' after she betrayed her brother

When Host Maya Jama asked the model what it was like meeting her beau's sister, Tanya replied: "Oh my god, she was giving me cold vibes."
