Since Love Island landed back on our screens last week, it has certainly made a splash. Like every season that came before it, season eight has brought drama, flirting and scandal with it so far, with particular Islanders and situations causing quite a fuss amongst viewers.
The eighth season of the ITV2 reality show has seen a fair few shake ups. The most obvious difference from the previous seasons is the ditching of the iconic Love Island villa by producers for a brand new luxury Mallorca mansion, complete with swimming pool, firepit and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Furthermore, the latest generation of Islanders have been dressed up in pre-loved clothing, with fast fashion being thrown out of the window in favour of the environment. In terms of the workings of the show itself, for the first time, the public decided who the first couples were going to be, rather than the girls stepping forward for the boys they fancy the most - which is what happened in past seasons.

Last night's episode (June 12) saw a new bombshell arrive at the villa, causing a stir amongst viewers and former Love Island stars alike. The bombshell in question was Gemma Owen's ex-boyfriend, Jacques O'Neill, who arrived to take the place of Liam Llewellyn.
Jacques' entry into the villa has rubbed some viewers the wrong way, including former Love Island star Siânnise Fudge, who gave her thoughts on last night's offering of the show after it had finished. Taking to her Instagram stories, the Bristolian beauty shared her views with her fans as she was not impressed.
The star said: "Well I don't know about you lot but I had to double check I was watching the right programme. I mean, I get it that they're trying to switch things up and you know, ruffle some feathers, but bringing in people's exes?"
Some fans have criticised the relationship that Gemma and Jacques once shared, due to the age gap. So far this season, Gemma and Davide's pairing caused a bit of a stir amongst viewers, due to the fact Gemma is 19 and Davide is 27.
Viewers have used their sleuth skills to work out the ages Gemma and Jacques were when they were together, and shared their results on Twitter. Erin said: "jacques is 23, gemma is 19. they broke up a year and a half ago, so when they were 21 and 17 and they were together for 8 months so they were 20 and 16."
