Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has explained why she chooses to keep her boyfriend out of the public eye and off her social media channels.
The reality TV star, 28, who shot to fame when she appeared on the winter series of Love Island in 2020, revealed that she was in a happy relationship back in April - but since then, she has yet to unveil her mystery man.
Unfortunately, for her curious fans, Shaughna has no intentions of unveiling her boyfriend's identity anytime soon as she's keen to keep her relationship under wraps and away from the public eye.
Lifting the lid on her blossoming romance, the former Love Island star admitted that she wants to keep her relationship with her mystery man out of the limelight due to the criticism she has faced in the past.
Shaughna revealed she is happier than ever at this point in her life, and she's not going to risk her happiness by posting too much about her private life on social media amid fears trolls and keyboard warriors will 'ruin' it.
“It’s just private and I think also when you post things all over social media, there are people out there who have no idea who you are but will do anything they can to try and ruin your happiness," she admitted.
“Everyone who knows me or my boyfriend knows that we are together, and I just want to keep it that way really," she told Goss.ie.
The reality TV star went on to add that she and her boyfriend are still in a 'happy' relationship, adding: “He’s at home with the dogs."
Shaughna's relationship admission comes after she recently revealed that she had been on a diet every day of her life since she was 14-years-old up until recently.
The star revealed that from when her father Eddie sadly passed away in 2016 from cancer, she believed that food was her 'obsession' and found it very difficult to get out of unhealthy habits.
Talking with New magazine she said: "From a very young age I was taught that food is the enemy."
When she appeared on reality TV show Love island she reveals that she had gained around a stone, and gained a stone during the coronavirus lockdown."
And while on Love Island, the star now realises that she was suffering from body dysmorphia.
"I definitely had body dysmorphia on the show. I was so insecure"," she told.
