Love Island's Sammy fumes at fellow Islanders after compatibility vote split from Jess

Love Islander Sammy has been left fuming after the savage fire pit vote saw his fellow Islanders vote he and Jess as one of the least compatible couples in the villa.

Last night's episode saw him separated from Jess alongside Mitch and Leah after host Maya Jama asked other Love Island couples to vote for who they thought were the least compatible. In a final shocking move, Maya revealed that the four Islanders would not be allowed to recouple together and were to head off on dates with new bombshells Montel and Mal.

A tense session around the Love Island fire pit leads to a tense day in the villa as some of Sammy's comments after the shock vote come to blow the next day.

The following day Sammy’s comments at the fire pit are still a hot topic among some of the Islanders, including Scott and Catherine who Sammy specifically called out as being incompatible.

Deciding to address the comment, Scott tells Sammy: "I did want to pull you up on something. When you said that I am not physically attracted to Catherine and we have no physical touch, I didn’t like it."

In response, Sammy tells him: "At the end of the day that’s from my point of view."

Catherine also questioned Sammy over his comments as she insisted her feelings for Scott are 'real' (ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Scott then adds: "I think it depends how you define compatibility because with the arguments you could say that because you’ve had so many arguments you aren’t compatible."

However, Sammy then asks: "But how many arguments did Ty and Ella have?"

Scott isn't the only one in the villa keen to speak to Sammy about his remarks the previous night as Catherine doubles up with pal Whitney to speak to him. Whilst Sammy called out Scott and Catherine as a couple, he also questioned Mehdi and Whitney as he claimed they wouldn't get together in the real world outside the villa.

Now single, Sammy can no longer couple up with Jess so is free to explore his interests in other Love Islanders (ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Defending his remarks, Sammy said: "Obviously you and Mehdi get on well and you and Scott get on well but at the end of the day I feel like Jess and I are more compatible."

Catherine fiercely defended her fledgling relationship with Scott as she said: "My feelings are obviously there. That physical attraction comment did upset me."

The episode will leave viewers on edge as they wait to see whether Sammy and Jess can clear the air after their arguments, and wether being banned from coupling up will see them find love with other Islanders instead.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
