Love Island's Paige Turley unrecognisable on Lawrence Chaney's new BBC show

Paige Turley was unrecognisable in her latest TV appearance as she joined forces with a fellow Scots star.

The ITV Love Island winner, 25, was the first guest to take part in RuPaul's Drag Race UK star Lawrence Chaney's new BBC Scotland show last night.

Lawrence Chaney's Homecoming Queens made its debut on BBC Scotland on Wednesday night, featuring a very glammed up Paige, as she was given her very own drag persona.

The premise of the show sees 2020 Drag Race winner Lawrence taking celebrities back to their roots, visiting their hometowns, but in full drag.

Paige told fans she was delighted the cat was out of the bag finally and that finally they could see the results of her special makeover.

Taking to Instagram earlier today, she said: "The secret's out. Had so much fun spending time with Lawrence Chaney and taking a road trip down memory lane in my hometown.

"I visit places that made me who I am growing up!

"And despite wearing a million layers of make-up, it was so nice for you to see more of Paige."

Paige, from Fauldhouse in West Lothian, won the first ever winter series of Love Island back in 2020 along with her boyfriend Finlay Tapp.

But it seems things could have turned out a lot differently had she taken the advice of her mum, who also appeared alongside Paige on the new BBC show, where she revealed she "begged" her daughter not to sign up for the ITV reality dating show.

And speaking to Lawrence last night, her mum said: "When she initially told me I said oh Paige please don't do that. I had just heard that it could be a bit raunchy.

Lawrence - known as 'Scottish drag royalty' - delighted the nation with their appearance on RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2020, which he went on to win.

Lawrence asked people on the streets of Fauldhouse if they knew who was in drag (BBC)

Lawrence asked if she was worried that Paige could have 'compromised' herself.

Her mum added: "I didn't ever think she would do that. It was just the whole kind of reputation that came with the show that I was a wee bit apprehensive about."

Paige steamed in and said: "We all went into it quite naive, you forget how big a show it is and how invested people get over the contestants in the show."

Lawrence - known as 'Scottish drag royalty' - took to Instagram earlier today to express his delight at his first guest.

They said: "You always remember your first…GUEST!!!

"My first homecoming queen is the incredible @paige_turley. Love Island winner, singer and influencer!

"Catch the first episode of Lawrence Chaney’s Homecoming Queens now on BBC iPlayer."
