Love Island always promises a summer full of romance and arguments, with fans finding plenty to complain about amongst the drama.
This year's series of the ITV2 show is no different as Ofcom has received 3,500 complaints about the programme this week following some of the male Islander's actions towards the women on the show.
Sunday night's episode of the series sparked 2,481 Ofcom complaints alone – as the fallout from the Movie Night challenge saw Dami Hope brand Summer Botwe "fake" and Luca Bish angrily accuse Gemma Owen of flirting with Billy Brown.
Viewers also complained about Aftersun and other episodes throughout the week – meaning the programme has wracked up more than 3,5000 Ofcom complaints this week.
However, the show is no stranger to controversy as moments from previous series have also received backlash. TV experts at Affise have compiled a list of the most complained about Love Island moments — from raging arguments to cheating fears.
Faye’s outburst at Teddy
Faye Winter secured a record 24,763 Ofcom complaints in 2021 following her screaming rampage towards Teddy Soares.
The boys had returned from Casa Amor, with the islanders settling down to watch clips during Movie Night.
In the episode, Faye was seen shouting and swearing at Teddy after watching a video of him telling Clarisse Juliette he was sexually attracted to her.
After the episode many viewers took to Twitter to share how uncomfortable the scene was to watch and questioned whether Faye should still be allowed to take part in the show.
Despite Faye's behaviour in the villa, her and Teddy are still together now.
Misleading islanders
Last year's series of Love Island also gained a lot of complaints after Faye was misled over Teddy's behaviour in Casa Amor. In fact, this incident received 5,000 complaints.
Viewers were left furious after the main villa was sent a postcard from Casa Amor.
One of the pictures showed Teddy kissing another girl, however, the image was actually taken during a challenge.
When Faye saw the postcard, she decided that was the end for her and Teddy and decided to move on with Sam Jackson.
4,330 of the complaints were from people who said the postcard was “misleading and caused unnecessary distress”.
More than 600 were also made two days later, after the recoupling episode, as Teddy was left single.
Dani's cheating fears
In 2018, 2,644 viewers made complaints to Ofcom after Dani Dyer was left crying in the beach hut because she thought her partner Jack Fincham was going to cheat on her.
When the boys were off enjoying Casa Amor, Dani was sent a video clip of Jack seeing one of his ex-girlfriends enter the villa.
Dani then became paranoid Jack would go back to his ex behind her back.
Viewers were left convinced the producers had allowed Dani to believe Jack was going to cheat on her for the purposes of making the show more entertaining.
Ofcom received complaints about "emotional cruelty" towards Dani from show bosses.
Maura's moves on Tommy
Viewers were visibly uncomfortable when they saw Maura Higgins make a move on a reluctant Tommy Fury, who was coupled up with her pal Molly-Mae Hague, in 2019.
Irish lass Maura was seen trying to plant a kiss on Tommy when the boxer decided to sleep on the sofa and be alone.
"You don't want a kiss," Maura was seen asking Tommy as he shook his head and said: "No. Give me a kiss on the cheek."
Maura was then seen leaning on Tommy and seductively planting a kiss on the side of his face. The awkward moment sparked 709 complaints to Ofcom.
