Maura Higgins has fuelled speculation that she could be about to make a bombshell return to Love Island as fans notice she's 'gone quiet' in social media.
Irish model Maura went into ITV show all guns blazing back in 2019, with her sights set firmly on Tommy Fury. While viewers were initially divided on her, Maura quickly became one of series 5's most popular Islanders and is regarded by many fans as one of the best ever contestants to grace Love Island.
So now, after 2018 star Adam Collard has gone back into the villa as a bombshell, viewers are hoping that Maura, who has gone onto appear on Dancing on Ice since her stint on the show, will soon be walking through the doors too. And the ex of reigning Strictly champion Giovanni Pernice has done little to quash the rumours as she's been absent from her socials.
The last post on her Instagram grid was a week ago, whole underneath the pinned post of her campaign for Ann Summers, Maura's followers are now flooding the comments section with pleas for her to go back on Love Island, with one writing: "Go back in the villa!!!!!"
As rumours of Maura's Love Island comeback started to gather momentum on Twitter, another admirer responded: "Maura Higgins is set to return??? Suddenly I'm watching love island again," with a third fan, equally supportive of the move, tweeted: "Send in Maura Higgins. She couples u with Adam. They steal the show and one takes the money and they part ways! The only ending for this season I want to see."
Speculation that Maura could return to Love Island comes as Adam lives up to his promise of 'ruffling some feathers,' as a preview for Tuesday night's episode saw Jacques left fuming by something the Newcastle personal trainer had said about him.
