Love Island star Luca Bish has confirmed that Gemma Owen is not his girlfriend - just yet.
The Brighton-based reality TV star, 23, took part in an Instagram live with former Love Island star Jacques O'Neill on Sunday evening ahead of the explosive Love Island reunion.
During the live, Jacques quizzed Luca on whether or not he has finally made things official with Micheal Owen's daughter, but to his pal's surprise, Luca admitted that he's still waiting on 'written consent' from Gemma's mother, Louise.
Luca, who coupled-up with Gemma during the first two weeks of the 2022 final, fell head over heels for the brunette bombshell, 19, and within a matter of weeks, he confessed his love for Gemma as the pair grew closer in the villa.
As their bond continued to strengthen as the days and weeks went on, Luca hinted that he wanted to make Gemma his girlfriend - but there was one catch that was holding him back.
Gemma insisted that she needed to get her mum's approval of Luca before the pair could become boyfriend and girlfriend.
Following their Love Island stint, where the lovebirds finished in second place, Gemma and Luca appear to have faced some trouble in paradise after they were spotted having a tiff following the filming of the Love Island reunion earlier this week.
Since then, speculation about a split has been rife, but during the Instagram Live, Luca insisted that it's only a matter of time before he makes things official with Gemma - he's just waiting for the right moment as he joked that he needed 'written consent' from her lookalike mum.
"Yeah mate, it's coming. I'm just waiting on written consent from her mum aren't I?" he quipped.
"Louise is lovely. Me and Gemma are good, I'm seeing her tonight - we're getting some food."
It comes as Luca and Gemma have spent a number of days apart for the first time since their whirlwind Love Island venture.
The lovebirds enjoyed some time back at their respective homes to spend quality time with their friends and family.
Gemma's dad Michael took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of the father-daughter duo as he said he was delighted to have her back home following her summer of love in Mallorca.
