Love Island's Luca 'no choice' but to move to Chester - despite not being Gemma's boyfriend

Luca Bish says he has “no choice” but to move to Chester to be with Gemma Owen – despite them not even being an official couple yet.

The Love Island runners up have been together since the second week of the show, but were beaten by Ekin-Su Culculogu and Davide Sanclimenti in the final.

Despite rumours their romance was on the rocks as the ITV2 dating show ended, the Brighton fishmonger and daughter of footballer Michael Owen still appear to be going strong.

But if they want to have a real shot at making it work Luca – who lives at the opposite end of the country to Gemma – says he is prepared to move to be with her.

“There’s no middle ground – it’s Chester or nothing!” he said.

Speaking about their plans for the future, the 23-year-old added: “I’m happy to go wherever she wants me to go.

"I haven’t got too many commitments back home so it’s easier for me to move.

“Whatever makes us happy and whatever is right, we’ll do. Hopefully if I move near her, in time we’ll get our own place together.”

In the Love Island reunion show the couple even talked marriage – despite 19-year-old Gemma initially not being a fan of Luca’s surname.

During the show Gemma was replayed an awkward clip where she told Luca before they were coupled up that his last name was “unfortunate”.

After having to watch it back with Luca sat next to her, she was asked by host Laura Whitmore if the name had grown on her now.

The teenager, who has her own bikini range as well as being an international dressage rider, admitted: “I still don’t love it, but it’s OK.”

She continued: “If we got married it would definitely have to be Gemma Owen-Bish.”

Luca said: “It has got a better ring to it, to be fair,” before adding: “I ain’t got a choice probably.”

The couple also revealed they are getting on much better now they are out of the Love Island villa.

Gemma said she liked Luca a lot more now, while he agreed she had also changed without the cameras around.

Appearing together on ITV ’s Good Morning Britain, Luca told Gemma: “You’ve changed a little. For the better, she’s come more out of her shell.”

The pair also hit back at claims their romance was in trouble, with Gemma insisting they are “official without the label”.

Luca promised he would make Gemma his girlfriend soon, saying: “I will ask her."

He quipped he was still waiting for the “written consent” of approval from Gemma’s family, including mum Louise and protective dad Michael .
