Love Island's Luca Bish tells ITV GMB Gemma Owen has 'changed' after villa stint

Love Island runners up Gemma Owen and Luca Bish have opened up on adapting to life outside of the villa after their stint on the dating show.

The couple appeared on ITV's Good Morning Britain today, where they discussed adjusting to normal life again. The pair came runner up behind eventual winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.

Gemma, 19, and Luca, 23, were one of the only couples who didn't make their relationship official during their time in the Love Island villa. The pair were accused by fans of 'changing' during their time on the show, and addressing those rumours today, Luca said: "You've changed a little."

He continues: "For the better, she's come more out of her shell. When I saw you with your mum and that," as Gemma shot him a look, before sharing how close she is to her mum Louise.

The pair also hit back at claims they were on the rocks, as Gemma insisted they were "official without the label". Luca vowed that he will ask her as he promised to make them boyfriend and girlfriend soon.

GMB host Richard Madeley asked the loved up couple all about their time in the villa, as Gemma responded that it's an "amazing experience". She added: "You're basically in a villa with a load of mates and it's all fun. I mean the days as it went on it got a little bit repetitive we do the same thing every day so when there was a challenge or something like that,"

Luca chimed in: "For six weeks it was probably the best time of my life, I enjoyed it every day, the banter, waking up with loads of people in the bedroom. I think as soon as i started feeling more and more strong towards Gem I started just to be like, I'm ready for the outside now and as soon as that gets in your head."

Standing in for GMB host Susanna Reid, Charlotte Hawkins said to the couple: "Well that was interesting, you said on the reunion last night when you were asked about your feelings, you said you feel more now, so tell us about that? You sort of felt like you were constrained by the show?"

Gemma replied: "Oh absolutely, yeah I feel in the villa, for me there was only a certain amount of feelings for Luca in that environment because you've got nothing to do with the outside. So yeah, I got to that point with the last week or two left here I just want to get out and start experiencing normal stuff now, have a normal life. we've only been out a week already," as Luca chimes in: "I think we've had a day or two days where we could actually do normal stuff, because you've been with your family and I've been with mine."

However, Richard asked the all important question that fans are dying to know: "Have you met the parents? Have you met Michael Owen yet?" Luca responded: "No, not yet. I think she's been home for a day, and I've been home for a day and then it's back to London." Before Richard asked Gemma what her dad thought of the show.

She added: "He just says, oh you know so proud, you didn't do anything to disgrace us so he's happy. Everyone seems just buzzing." Luca adds his family are happy to have him home getting back into normal life too."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
