Love Island's Luca Bish gets death threats as sister reveals extent of 'sickening' online abuse

Luca Bish's sister has revealed that the Love Island star has had death threats as fans reacted badly to his behaviour on Sunday night's show.

While Luca has been a favourite in the eyes of the bookies since day one of the ITV show's new series, some fans have raised concerns about 'red flags' over his behaviour to love interest Gemma Owen in recent weeks, also accusing him, of 'egging on' the other lads to cheat while the girls were in Casa Amor.

Luca's encouragement to both Andrew and Dami to go behind Tasha and Indiyah's backs was exposed as Movie Night continued on Sunday, with Danica, Indiyah and Paige all far from impressed by his actions, while Luca raged at a clip of new boy Billy flirting with Gemma.

As they always are, Love Island viewers were very vocal with their disapproval online, with many likening him to last year's 'villain' Jake Cornish. But trolls took their hatred way too far, with fishmonger Luca's sister, taking to Instagram to reveal she'd been sick after seeing de4ath threats come in.

Luca's sister is running his account while he is in the villa and, sharing some of the horrible messages sent to him, issued a plea to Love Island fans and social media users, writing: "Please, please, please stop messaging abuse. Luca can’t even see it… the people that love him most can.

" I’ve just been sick from crying so much at the death threats. How can people be so inhumane."

Next to screen shots of some of the offensive messages, she added: "‘The hardest night of my entire life. This is happening every second.

‘Just so beyond grateful Luca isn’t here to read these. Heartbroken.’

News of the death threats against Luca came after a joint statement was put out on the accounts of many of this year's Islanders, including Paige Thorne's, days after the Welsh paramedic's family begged people not send abuse, going as far as disabling comments on posts.

The widely circulated message read: "‘Love Island is an interactive TV show where opinions, discussion and debate are welcome in equal measure to displays of support, love and kindness.

‘Although we have never met, we stand together today, united against the hate messages and insults that some viewers seem to think are acceptable to throw at our friends, sons, daughters and family members."

The statement added: "Your hate has no place on our pages or in society in general.

‘This post is being shared across contestants’ social media pages at the same time and Love Island fan pages as a sign of unity and denouncement of hate.’
