Love Island star Liam Reardon has shared his thoughts on why Ekin-Su CülcüloÄlu and Davide Sanclimenti have called time on their relationship less than a year after leaving the villa.
The reality TV star won the show in 2021 and knows a thing or two about a public break-up after splitting — and now rekindling his relationship — with on/off girlfriend Millie Court.
The former bricklayer revealed that the unrelenting public scrutiny ultimately affected their relationship and believes Ekin-Su and Davide were victims to that same fate.
While sharing his well wishes to the former couple, Reardon sympathised with them as he shared his own frustrations with having to “continuously show people how amazing your relationship is” after you leave the ITV2 show.
He shared: “At the end of the day, you’re a normal guy and girl who have normal arguments, they go to bed the same. They do everything the same as you do. So, they’re gonna have these problems.
“People think, ‘How are they having problems? They’re this amazing couple’ — that is just frustrating.
“You get so caught up in it and you have to keep appearances and show people you’re happy.
He told Metro.co.uk: “It kind of makes you unhappy then and people don’t understand that.
“As much as they feel like they’re supporting us, which is lovely, but when they involve themselves it can be quite difficult.
“That’s one of the reasons why me and Millie went our separate ways and I’m assuming it’s one of the reasons that they [Ekin-Su and Davide] may have gone their separate ways, but I hope they’re both okay.”
Reardon’s comments come as he and Court appeared to confirm they have rekindled their romance after they were spotted hand-in-hand at the Barbie UK premiere in London on Thursday, in photos obtained by MailOnline.
Elsewhere, CülcüloÄlu finally broke her silence following her shock split from Sanclimenti.
The reality TV star took to Instagram to thank her followers for their “kind and supportive” messages over the past two weeks amid her break-up.
Returning to social media, she wrote on her Stories: “Hi everyone, I thought it was time to come back online to thank you so much for all of your messages over the past two weeks.
“It has shown me what a kind, supportive, strong community I have behind me.
“ took some much-needed time away with my family which has been really special but now it’s time to realign and get back to work.
“I have such an exciting year ahead and I want to fully focus on that. I really appreciate your ongoing support.
“Thank you for cheering me on. Ekin x”.
