Love Island's Liam Llewellyn wears heart on his sleeve and keen to settle down at 22

Liam Llewellyn has admitted that he wears his heart of his sleeve, with him stating that he would like to "meet someone" whilst in the Love Island villa over the summer.

The masters student, 22, from Newport in South Wales, has been announced as part of the line-up for the new series of the ITV2 show - ahead of its launch next week on June 6.

He's said the experience - which will see him move into the iconic villa located in Majorca - is a "great opportunity to meet someone" and potentially begin a new relationship.

And speaking ahead of the new series' launch in the coming days, he has suggested that viewers will be able to tell when he's developing feelings for a fellow islander.

Liam said: "I wear my heart on my sleeve. I can't hide how I feel about anyone." The islander further commented: "I'm probably quite emotional as well come to think about it."

He added that his family would likely describe him as "quite generous", "quite caring" and "bubbly," with him promising to bring a positive energy to the Love Island villa.

"I'll bring good energy. I'm good company to be around," he explained, stating that he's able to "put on a nice smile" even when he's somewhere he doesn't want to be.

Liam has said that he's not long come out of a long-term relationship, which ended in November after three years. He's been "enjoying" himself since the break-up.

The islander stated that he has been "happy" on his own, asserting that he isn't going into the villa because he needs to, but rather because he wants to experience it.

Discussing the possibility of competing for a fellow islander's affections, Liam said that whilst he's "so competitive," he'll try to think about other people's feelings.

Laura Whitmore returns as host of the new series - which starts next Monday (June 6) (ITV)

Liam said he doesn't want to create "bad tension" between a couple, but is willing to intervene if he senses that one party is "uncertain or unhappy" in the pairing.

He suggested he would do so if he felt that he was "better suited" to that person, though he assured that he wouldn't "ruin" it for a couple if they're "made for each other."

The islander said he thinks 22 is a "really nice age to meet someone," as they've got years ahead of them to "experience stuff and grow together" in the relationship.

Love Island starts at 9pm next Monday (June 6) on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
