Love Island's Liam Llewellyn reveals reason for shock exit from ITV2 show

Liam Llewellyn departed from the Love Island villa ahead of the first recoupling of the series during a dramatic episode tonight.

The 22-year-old Welshman alerted everyone to gather round the fire pit to deliver the news of his shock exit.

He went on to explain that 'he wasn't feeling himself', as he explained to his fellow Islanders.

Liam said: "I haven't really been feeling that I've been giving 100 per cent - i'm miles off that and i've been having a hard time finding that.

"I've made the decision that I am going to leave the villa.

"I've been thinking long and hard about this decision, it's not a spur of the moment thing."

The contestants embraced Liam as they wished goodbye.

He then went to hug things out with Gemma during a private chat before packing his bags to leave the villa.

Liam’s shock exit came as the islanders prepared for the result of the first recoupling of the series on Friday night.

Prior to this, tensions also rose between Davide and Luca as the pair competed to win over Gemma.

Davide expressed his anger at Luca after he told Gemma fancied her in the previous episode on Thursday.

The Italian contestant accused Luca of 'acting behind his back'.

It is likely that viewers will know the results of the recoupling before the show closes later tonight.

Love Island next airs on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Tonight’s episode will be available the following morning on BritBox.
