Laura Whitmore has announced she is stepping down from presenting Love Island.
Taking to Instagram the presenter released a statement explaining she would not be returning to the ITV2 dating show. She said her decision comes after finding "certain elements of the show very difficult."
The 37-year-old explained she was only supposed to fill in for one series, following the death of her close friend Caroline Flack. She paid tribute to the former presenter.

In full, the statement read: "Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island.
"There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects. I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series.
"I hope I did you proud Caroline." Laura ended the post with a red love heart emoji.
Fans of the Irish presenter were gutted by the news but took to the comments to wish her well in the future. Grainne said: "Ah no that's sad. But you were great. Best of luck with all your new adventures."
Ali said: "Oh wow, best of luck with the next venture Laura. Can’t wait to see where you go next. Well done on everything to date, that show comes with extremely hard things to deal with and you handled everything so well."
Meanwhile, Elaine said: "You've done a great job. Good luck with whatever the future holds."
