Love Island's Laura Whitmore defiant as 'lack of screen time' exposed

Laura Whitmore has defiantly answered back to critics after her lack of screen time on Love Island.

Irish host Laura took over from the late Caroline Flack as the presenter of the hot ITV show in 2020, but, is now facing accusations, similar to ones levelled at her last year, that she is ‘never on’ the show.

While she has been on screen for the past two Sundays on Love Island spin-off Aftersun, Laura, wife of the show’s narrator Iain Stirling, has been on the main programme for less than a total of four minutes so far.

Laura was last seen in the villa more than two weeks ago, when the new series launched on Monday. June 6. She walked into the villa to announce that, rather than this year’s boys and girls choosing who to couple up with, the public had already decided who should be with who.

The presenter then left the set to let the Islanders crack on with getting to know each other and hasn’t set foot in the villa since.

This is in spite of the fact that there’s already been lots of drama, not least the latest Love Island dumping on Monday’s show, when six contestants were left in danger of getting the boot.

Just as she was accused of ‘humiliating’ axed Islander Remi Lambert on Aftersun, one viewer tweeted: “When are you actually gonna make an appearance on Love Island? I thought you were the host?”

Laura was quick to reply: “ Same as every year babes”
