Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore has revealed her first new TV project since announcing she is stepping down from the hit dating show.
37-year-old Laura took to Instagram on Monday to announce she will not be returning to the island after fronting the show for three series. She said the decision came after finding "certain elements of the show very difficult."
On Wednesday, Laura shared some exciting news, again taking to Instagram to reveal her next TV project. The Irish presenter will host a new series for ITV which will see her tackling a series of controversial issues in “immersive investigative films.”

Laura said the new series - currently given the working title Laura Whitmore Investigates - is a “dream come true.” She added: “Getting back to my journalistic roots, I hope we can shine a light on some really important topics and issues and delve into a variety of serious and interesting real-life subjects.”
The new three-part series - to be broadcast on streaming platform ITVX - will explore the “edgy, difficult worlds” where sex and power collide, according to ITV. It added: "In this new series, viewers will see a new side of Laura as she travels within the UK and further afield to delve into subjects that fascinate her and have an impact on our lives."
A release date for Laura Whitmore Investigates has not yet been announced.
