Love Island's Jess 'playing' Will as relationship expert agrees with concerned fans

Fans of ITV's Love Island agree with a relationship expert who said Jessie may be playing on Will's popularity outside the villa. Aussie Jessie Wynter joined the island as one of two new bombshells on Sunday evening, having already shot to fame after starring on the Australian version of the show.

Jessie, 26, appeared on the second series of the show down under and coupled up with Todd. The pair were together for two years before eventually deciding to split in February 2020.

Now, she has returned to the glamourous villa on Love Island UK - and has already caused quite a shake up. Fans have rooted for favourite Will, 23, to couple up from the very beginning and were thrilled when he coupled up with Lana on Friday (January 20) but were shocked by his date with the new bombshell on Monday evening.

From the beginning, Jessie appeared to be interested in getting to know Will - The Sun reports she said will "definitely interests" her. She said: "My dream is to have a big farm with six or seven kids. So Farmer Will certainly interests me. I’m not the best farmer. I gave it a crack and I can pretend I’m a good farmer.

"I’m from Australia, I’m a country girl, speaking to people who have grown up in that similar environment will be great."

Despite some fan's relief at the Aylesbury farmer finally connecting with one of the islanders, fans and experts alike are worried about the potential for Jessie to play on Will's popularity with viewers to get ahead in the show. One fan said: "Will is getting played by Jess , she knows who is liked on outside, she wants to stay as long as she can & Will very popular, sad to watch bless him!"

Another added: "I feel like jess will use him to get to the finale."

Someone else said: "I don't like jessie likes will for one second I'm sorry."

Heart Bingo and co-founder of dating site So Syncd and relationship expert Louella Alderson said Jessie "hasn't put all her eggs in one basket" when it comes to fan-favourite Will. She said: " There is always a danger when an Islander is popular on the outside that bombshells entering the villa are attracted to them for this reason.

"If Jessie is using Will as a way to gain attention through his popularity, then it will start to show quite quickly. The sexual chemistry between them will either be there, or it won't. If it isn't, there may be other islanders Jessie is more drawn to and will want to invest her time in.

"However, at the moment, Jessie hasn’t put all of her eggs in one basket with Will and she is keeping her options open. Having watched Love Island Australia with Jessie in, she seemed genuine. Jessie left the villa with a boyfriend, Todd, who she was with for almost two years, so she clearly has faith in the process."

Alderson added the farmer seemed genuine with his affections, given his concern with Jessie living across the other side of the world. She added: "If you are looking for a genuine connection on Love Island, then finding someone who lives on the opposite side of the world is not ideal. But if you are looking to win, then this might not be such an issue for someone.

"Ultimately, only time will tell if Jessie is using Will for his popularity or if their connection is genuine. If she is truly into him and wants a real bond, then she won't hesitate to show it."
