Love Island's Jay reveals 'mandatory' part of show that he 'hated' every day

Former Love Island contestant Jay Younger has revealed one part of being in the ITV2 dating show that he 'hated.

The reality star, 28, from Edinburgh who was booted out of the Spanish villa earlier this month has been spilling the behind-the-scenes of how the TV show really works.

Many of the ex-islanders have opened up about the villa secrets with some showing how the show's producers often have a big hand in creating some of the most dramatic moments.

And watching the show from home, Jay took to Twitter on Sunday night to reveal one part of the day that was made "mandatory" by the producers.

"Hated these mandatory morning debriefs," he wrote referring to when the Islanders split into groups every morning to discuss any drama from the night before, with the girls usually gathering on the terrace, while the boys sit on the day beds outside.

Fans were quick to respond to Jay's tweet, with one person asking: "do the producers actually tell you to go and sit somewhere and say one by one how your life is going."

And Jay responded: "Yes."

Another fan wrote: "It’s so cringe to watch. I’d much rather watch you all naturally so whatever it is you would do. Get up, dressed and chill n chat without it being forced."

However one joked that the reason Jay didn't like it was because he didn't develop a lasting romantic connection with anyone in the villa, writing: "That's because you kept friend-zoning people so had no juicy deets for anyone... in all seriousness though...awkward!!"

However, Jay saw the funny side as he agreed with them writing: "Correct."

Jay was sent home from the villa two weeks ago when the group were forced to choose between him and Dami Hope.

The contestants decided to save Dami because he had a connection with Indiyah in the villa.
