Love Island's Jacques O'Neill quits the show hours after new islander sets sights on Paige

Love Island's Jacques O'Neill has decided to quit the ITV2 dating show. The news comes after new islander Adam Collard enter the villa and set his sights on Paige.

Jacques had been a bombshell entry to the villa himself as it was quickly revealed that he was an ex of Gemma Owen. The rugby player got over the shock and gave his attention to Paige.

The Mirror reports that, after Casa Amor, there was a hiccup in their relationship as Jacques was tempted to stray. A Love Island spokesperson said: "Jacques has made the decision to leave the Villa. He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight’s episode. We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques."

In Casa Amor, Jacques decided to try things with Cheyanne, despite saying he wanted to be with Paige. In a frank chat on his partner's return from Casa Amor, Paige said: "I get Casa is a test, but it’s only a test if you want it to be a test and you only want tests if you feel like something is missing or if you feel like something’s not 100%.

"Why did you do it if you didn’t have any of those things with her [Cheyanne] or if you genuinely felt that way about me? Because it’s not adding up. I’m not sure you quite understand how."

Jacques then went on to tell her: "Look I know you’re hurt mate, I know you are. You deserve better," with Paige then asking him: "Well, why couldn’t you just have been better then?"

After his behaviour in Casa Amor, Jacques' family took to social media to explain he had ADHD. "Jacques was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 9 years old," his sister shared, "By no means is this a get out clause for his actions but it is to show that he can fundamentally struggle with his emotions at times.

"He is an amazing person who I'm proud to call my friend/little brother. All the hate thrown towards Jacques doesn't go to him directly ... It comes to his loved ones who have always supported him and not just whilst he is on Love Island.

"Love Island, although real, is still a show where the producers do have control and we see 45 minutes out of the 1440 in 24hours." Jacques had penned a note to Paige to try and beg for her forgiveness.

"The first day I walked in it's been me and you, from the first moment I seen you I thought you were beautiful to only find out you're as beautiful as you are on the outside as you are on the inside," it read.

"We get on like I've never got on with anyone in my life before, I literally see you as my best friend already and it's only been four weeks. I've never been so excited to take a girl home to meet my mum (I know she's going to adore you)."
