Love Island's Jacques issues grovelling apology to Paige as fans beg her to dump him

Jacques O'Neill will issue a grovelling apology to Paige Thorne tonight - but fans are begging her not to accept it after his nasty side was revealed last night on Love Island.

After the heart rate challenge, Jacques lashed out at Paige for "sulking" as she admitted she was upset his heart rate increased the most for his ex.

Jacques told her to "f*** off", before going on to admit that his heart rate might have gone up because he and Gemma had had sex in the past, leaving Paige devastated.

Tonight, Jacques is clearly regretting his harsh words as he pulls her for a chat.

He tells her: "When you actually opened up and told me why, I was like ok, I apologise. I should’ve had your feelings first before mine."

Reflecting in the Beach Hut, he says: "Last night with Paige, I was quite selfish at first- I realised that pretty quick when I spoke to her. I should’ve been there for her straight away."

On the day beds, Jacques tells her: "I’d love to prove to you how much you mean to me."

But fans are begging Paige to dump him after being left concerned over a number of "red flags" he is displaying.

One tweeted: "Jacques has got Paige right where he wants her. With manipulation, fake 'opening up' and knocking down her confidence also. Like when she was feeling herself he had a strop and she was reeled back in. Very scary behaviour #loveisland."

While another commented: "why was jacques talking to paige like that wtf #LoveIsland."

A third wrote: "Can we compare how Dami and Indiyah dealt with the same situation that Paige and Jacques did? Jacques you’re a piece of s*** don’t talk to Paige like that AGAIN #loveisland."

"I hope that you lot watching Paige interact with Jacques can see just how easy it is for your confidence and self-esteem to be ruined by an emotionally abusive partner #loveisland," another commented.

One tweeted: "Paige pretending not to be bothered so she doesn’t upset Jacques is very concerning. Break them up. #loveisland."

Another wrote: "The way Jacques is speaking to Paige? Big big red flag."

*Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2
