Love Island's Jacques has short message after Adam and Paige step up relationship

Love Island ’s Jacques O'Neill has shared a short and sweet message to fans to thank them for their support during his time in the villa.

The 23-year-old rugby player left the villa following a heated discussion between him and Paige Thorne after he clashed with Adam Collard.

He has now shared a short message on Instagram to say thank you to his fans.

It comes as Paige and Adam took the next step in their relationship by going exclusive on Thursday evening. Adam said he was "100% closed off to other girls".

Posting on Instagram on Friday, Jacques shared a selfie to his story of him doing a peace sign with his hands. He simply wrote on the picture: “Thank you for all the support.”

The next story he shared was a picture of himself posing as he walked.

Things got emotional when Jacques made the decision to leave the villa, saying afterwards that the show “broke” him. He feared that things would go “horribly wrong” between him and Adam.

Jacques even revealed that he was scared he would attack Adam, but producers tried to convince him to stay. He said he couldn't take a step back and "had to deal with every situation”.

He removed his microphone and walked through the front doors because he "just wanted to get out of that place."

Speaking of his decision to leave, Jacques said: "Producers tried coming to me, they were like, ‘Jacques, are you OK? I was saying, ‘I don’t want to speak to you or anyone. I want to be left to myself.’

"It was too much."

He claims ITV bosses tried to coax him back after offering him a welfare chat.

An ITV spokesperson told The Mirror Jacques was not coerced into staying and said they respected his decision to leave.

"As we said at the time, Jacques made the decision to leave and we respected that decision.

"Islanders are welcome to leave should they choose to do so and we would never put pressure on someone to stay in the Villa."

Jacques has admitted that appearing on the show was "the worst decision of my life" and left him feeling "ready to break down".
