Love Island’s Gemma Owen signs six-figure deal with fashion giant PrettyLittleThing

Love Island star Gemma Owen has signed a six-figure deal with popular fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing that will see her launch her own clothing collections under the brand.

19-year-old Gemma told MailOnline that the partnership was “a dream come true”, adding that she wore PrettyLittleThing clothes throughout her time in the Love Island villa. "The team has been amazing and I'm excited to get to work and start designing some collections for you all,” she said.

PrettyLittleThing CEO Umar Kamani praised Gemma as the “perfect person” to represent shoppers of the brand. “She’s smart, confident, ambitious and has a much loved, relatable style,” he said.

Gemma said that she was “excited to get to work” designing new clothing lines with PLT, while Umar promised that “lots of exciting content” including photo shoots would be shared with fans in due course. Gemma follows in the footsteps of Love Island 2019 finalist Molly-Mae Hague, who became PLT’s creative director last year.

Gemma's year-long partnership with PLT will see her create content for the brand's YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok channels alongside launching her own ranges. She will also help the brand launch their new platform PLT Marketplace, where customers can resell clothes in a move towards improved sustainability.

Gemma is no stranger to the fashion industry - she already owns her own swimwear brand, OG Beachwear. But her football star dad Michael is ‘banned’ from wearing anything in her collection.

42-year-old Liverpool and England legend Michael admitted that his daughter had told him there were “no dad bods” allowed in her swimwear, while Gemma confirmed: “He’s banned.” Gemma and her Love Island beau Luca Bish have recently been soaking up the sun in Portugal with Michael and the rest of Gemma’s family.
